How to read the results:
Pregnant: the presence of 2 rose-pink color bands (one in the control window and one in the result window) means you are pregnant.
Not pregnant: the presence of one rose-pink color band in the control window, means you are not pregnant.
Invalid: if there is no rose-pink color band in the control window at 5 minutes, the test result is invalid. Questions and answers:
Q: how does the test work?
A: your body produces a special pregnant hormone known as Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG). This test will detect the presence of HCG in the urine as early as the 1 st day of a missed period.
Q: How accurate is the Accutest?
A: Although the Accutest is highly accurate in detecting pregnancy, a low incidence of false results may occur (positive results when no pregnancy exists, or vise-versa). Certain health conditions such as ovarian cysts or an ectopic pregnancy (i.e. outside the uterus) can cause a false result. Check with your doctor if you get unexpected or inconsistent results.
Q: Can any medication affect the result? Will drinking alcohol or using an oral contraception affect the test result?
A: Drinking alcohol will not affect the result. Oral contraceptive, pain killers, antibiotics or hormones therapies should not affect the result. Only medicines which contain HCG (HCG which are given by injection include: A.P.L, Pregnul, Profasi) can produce a false result.
Q: What if the result is negative, but I am still not sure?
A: If your test shows a negative result while you are sure that you are pregnant, you may have miscalculated your menstrual cycle, or no pregnancy hormone was detected in your urine. You can retest your urine within the first week of missed cycle. If you still have negative result and your period does not begin, there may be other reasons why you have not menstruated. So consult your doctor.
